This classic gold and gunmetal twist pen is handcrafted from wood salvaged from The USS Forrestal and acrylic. The USS Forrestal wood is the end sections of the cast acrylic body. The USS Forrestal was a supercarrier named after the Secretary of Defense James Forrestal. Commissioned in 1955 she was the first completed supercarrier and was the lead ship of her class. At the time she was the largest carrier built and was the first designed to support jet aircraft. She was decommissioned in 1993 and in 2014 she was towed to Brownsville Texas to be scrapped.
