This elegant Platinum and Black Titanium twist pen contains a small piece of wood from Ford's Theater embedded in acrylic. Ford's Theater, located in Washington, D.C., is the location of one of the nation's greatest national tragedies. On April 14, 1865, President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth at Ford's Theater. Ford's Theater was opened in 1863 and was closed immediately after the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. In the 1930's it was renovated and reopened as The Lincoln Museum. In 1964 Congress funded a complete renovation to turn the historic building back into a working theater, as close as possible to its 1865 original appearance.
