The NRG Astrodome, also known as the Houston Astrodome or simply the Astrodome, is the world's first multi-purpose domed sports stadium. The Astrodome is located in Houston, TX and construction began in 1963. The Astrodome was officially opened in 1965. It was home to the Astros and the Oilers. The Astrodome was added to the National Register of Historic Places in January 2014.
