Metropolitan Stadium, often referred to as The Met, or now The Old Met, was home to the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings from 1961 to 1981. It was opened in April of 1956 and closed in December of 1981. The Mall of America now stands on the site of what was once the Metropolitan Stadium.
